The GPS Field Technician supports the ongoing maintenance and dissemination of data and applications in the GIS environment. Works under the guidance of supervising staff to ensure that clients' data collection needs are met on a day to day basis.

The GPS Field Technician I will have the following duties:

  • Collects field data using GPS equipment for the purpose of inventorying and assessing man-made and natural features.

  • Completes setup, adjustment and operation of equipment used at job sites.

  • Measures, records and calculates data based on readings from instruments.

  • Maintains clear and accurate field notes.

  • Provides routine maintenance and stocking of crew supplies.

  • Regularly walks, stands, or stoops and occasionally lifts, carries or otherwise moves objects weighing up to 60 pounds.

  • Demonstrates ability and willingness to work outdoors for sustained periods of time in harsh weather conditions.

  • Displays capability and motivation to walk extended distances to assist with field measurements as required.

  • Displays effective time management.

  • Safety sensitive position.

  • Other duties as required.

Candidate must possess an Oklahoma Driver’s License and have reliable transportation to and from work. Out of town work for short periods of time may be required for the position.

Must be willing to relocate to Tulsa, Oklahoma.
