The GIS Technician/Analyst at Meshek and Associates will require a background and proficiency in supporting Planning and/or Public Works agencies, including the inventory, analysis, and reporting of data for hazard mitigation plans, capital improvement plans, and other plans, while supporting the analysis and recommendation of projects to address public needs. The emphasis in this role will be the collection, creation, and analysis of needed data to support these efforts.
The GIS Analyst will have the following duties:
Perform GIS data enhancement and maintenance using ESRI software.
Evaluate, edit and produce street centerline, hydrography, utility, address, and other data layers using Esri tools.
Make decisions on daily GIS production tasks that could affect the completion of the final deliverables to the client.
Develop and maintain spatial data in support of hydrologic studies, utility inventories and assessments, environmental and land mapping, hazard mitigation plans, capital improvement plans, and related projects.
Prepare presentation graphics, perform spatial analysis of data, and collect or assist in the collection of GPS data.
Seek and implement automated data collection, analysis, and modification methods where practical
Stay current with latest developments in GIS field.
Interpret, organize, execute, and coordinates assignments.
Mentor junior staff and assist in the training of new employees in standard practices and procedures.
Display effective time management.
Candidate must possess an Oklahoma Driver’s License and have reliable transportation to and from work. Out of town work for short periods of time may be required for the position.
Must be willing to relocate to Tulsa, Oklahoma.
