The GIS Specialist I at Meshek will require a background and proficiency in supporting Planning and/or Public Works agencies, including the inventory, analysis, and reporting of data for hazard mitigation plans, capital improvement plans, and other plans, while supporting the analysis and recommendation of projects to address public needs.
The GIS Specialist I will have the following duties:
Develop ArcMap, ArcPro, and ArcGIS Online projects/layouts for the fulfillment of data requests as necessary; design cartographic and other visual graphic output.
Assist with GIS mobile data collection processes such as ArcPad, ArcGIS Collector, Survey 123, or other related data collection technologies.
Prepare, update, and maintain GIS databases, reports, statistical information and maps as requested.
Assists in the collection of mapping of land use, environmental, demographic, utility, and other types of data.
Interprets various information from applications to GIS files, e.g. survey drawings, site development plans, subdivision plans, plats, and reports.
Assist employees with map production and analysis of spatial database information; provide technical support to train and assist system users in new and existing GIS applications.
Organize, create, manipulate, enter and retrieve GIS data for reporting, analysis, and presentation purposes.
Seek and implement automated data collection, analysis, and modification methods where practical.
Stay current with latest developments in the GIS field.
Mentor junior staff and assist in the training of new employees in standard practices and procedures.
Display effective time management.
Other duties as directed.
Candidate must possess an Oklahoma Driver’s License and have reliable transportation to and from work. Out of town work for short periods of time may be required for the position.
Must be willing to relocate to Tulsa, Oklahoma.
