Founder & President of Meshek & Associates, PLC

Janet K. Meshek, founder and President of Meshek & Associates, PLC, chose engineering as her career more than 25 years ago and remains convinced she's doing what she was meant to do. Janet specializes in the planning, hydrologic and hydraulic analysis and design of storm drainage systems, floodplain management, and flood control projects. She has served as an expert witness in numerous drainage-related litigation cases.

An in-demand speaker in her field, Janet has made numerous presentations on various drainage-related topics both locally and regionally at conventions, association meetings, topical seminars and water resource awareness events. Janet believes in the benefits technology can bring to water resource and floodplain management projects and is formally trained using HEC-1, HEC-HMS, HEC-2, HEC-RAS, and DAMBRK software and systems. In addition, she has extensive hands-on experience using HEC-1, HEC-HMS, HEC-2, HEC-RAS, HMR52, TR20, and other hydrologic-hydraulic software. She is familiar with TP40, HYDRO35, and many other hydrologic/hydraulic programs, procedures, and references.

Since forming Meshek & Associates, PLC, in 1988, Mrs. Meshek has served as the Principal in Charge or Project Manager for comprehensive drainage studies for many communities in Texas and Oklahoma, including the cities of Tulsa, Bixby, Sand Springs, Bartlesville, Owasso and Ponca City, Oklahoma, as well as for the campus of the University of Oklahoma and the R.L. Jones Riverside Airport in Tulsa. Each study included the development of detailed hydrologic and hydraulic computer models; the evaluation and design of flood damage mitigation methods including open channel improvements, enclosed storm drainage systems, bridge/culvert improvements, detention/retention ponds, and other relief measures; and the preparation and coordination of comprehensive reports and presentations. Janet provides hydrologic and hydraulic analyses for roadway, storm sewer, culvert, bridge and detention pond design for projects undertaken by Meshek & Associates, PLC in a variety of municipal and commercial situations.
