Evaluation of current situation and creation of community and city action teams to facilitate community involvement in the process
Preparation of updated hydrology and hydraulics using HEC-HMS HEC-RAS and GEO-RAS as well as ArcView, ArcInfo, ArcMap and ArcGIS
Collection of field data to prepare bridge and culvert data for HEC-RAS/GEO-RAS, as well as confirmation of land use data and channel conditions. Develop GIS drainage database.
Identification of flood problem areas, involving an economic analysis of flood damage as well as a safety analysis for use in Flood Warning and Emergency Evacuation Plans
Stormwater policy and ordinance review and revision
Basin-wide, watershed and floodplain master drainage planning
Recommendations for flood mitigation projects, i.e. channelization, storm water detention facilities, levees, pump stations and acquisition of repetitively flooded properties and flood prevention projects to deal with the potential increases in discharge in newly developing areas, including conceptual plans and cost estimates
Compliance with FEMA, CRS (Community Rating System) and NDPES Phase II requirements and submittals.
Prepare Master Drainage Plan Document including watershed characterization, drainage inventory, supporting data, regulatory framework, engineering and planning assumptions, public input programs, modeling methodology and results, flood problem and flood risk identification, alternatives analysis, capital drainage improvement plan, related stormwater and community development goals and flood protection management and planning tools. This document typically includes digital GIS and/or AutoCAD files and database plus hydrologic-hydraulic modeling files for the client’s further use.
